If I Were Mayor

The Valdosta City Council met outside, April 22,  in John W. Saunders Memorial Park in observance of  Earth Day. Mayor John J. Fretti presented awards to Larry Hanson, Valdosta City Manager, and Phyllis Kassum, Employee of the Month. Mayor Fretti announced the winners of the “If I Were Mayor” sixth grade contest- taking time to read each letter of the 3 finalist.

1st place: Seth Shuman | Valdosta Middle School | Teacher: Mr. Chris Bittinger

2nd place: Ceu Ling | Valdosta Middle School | Teacher: Mr. Chris Bittinger

3rd place | Mariah Newkirk, Valdosta Early College Academy | Teacher: Ms. Hilda Edgerton
